When you buy one of our caravans, you are buying a caravan that has existing bookings (bookings will vary for each van). It is a condition of purchase that any existing bookings are honoured.
If you decide to purchase the van, 75% of the total booking value is yours to keep.
Until purchase, all vans are available for booking. This means that the value of bookings may change as new bookings occur and existing bookings are completed.
You decide whether to continue taking new bookings after purchasing the caravan.
For all bookings arranged through Victorian Caravan Hire, we manage the hire agreements and payments, and we support the hirer before, during and after the hire. The owner will be responsible for storing the caravan, cleaning and maintenance, and meeting the hirer for handover at the beginning and end of the hire.
After purchase the caravan will reside with the new owner and will no longer be stored at Victorian Caravan Hire. All pickups for existing bookings will be from the owner’s storage location, home or a pre arranged location. If you live more than 30 km from Braeside, please speak with us so we can discuss options that take the hirer’s location into account.
Yes, you will need caravan insurance that includes Hire Use cover. Many of our owners use CIL, one of Australia’s largest caravan insurance providers. Apia and Let’s Go Caravan Insurance also offer Hire Use cover.
Damage must be reported to Victorian Caravan Hire within 24 hours of the hire ending using the post-hire checklist in the provided app, including photos and a description. Minor damage may be covered by the hirer’s security bond. More significant damage may require an insurance claim, which you make directly with your insurer so you remain in control of the process. Your excess will normally be covered by the hirer’s security bond.
Yes. When you purchase the caravan, you can choose to keep it listed on our website and continue receiving bookings through Victorian Caravan Hire. You set the daily rate and receive 90% of the hire fee.
