Travelling with Dogs in Our Caravans Policy
1. Approval Requirement:
- Pre-Booking Approval: You must seek approval from Victorian Caravan Hire prior to booking if you plan to travel with dogs. Unless expressly agreed by Victorian Caravan Hire, pets or animals are not permitted in any part of the Hire Caravan.
- Unauthorized Pets: Evidence of an unauthorized pet or animal found inside the Hire Caravan will incur a minimum cleaning fee of $100.
2. Dog Cleaning Fee:
- Fee at Booking: A $50 dog cleaning fee per hire will be charged at the time of booking. This fee covers a deep clean of the caravan before it is handed over to the next guests.
3. Pre-Trip Requirements:
- Flea Treatment: We kindly ask that your furry friends are treated for fleas prior to traveling with you.
- Toilet Training: Only toilet-trained pets are permitted.
- Cleanliness: Please ensure your dog is clean and dry before entering the caravan. Dogs are not allowed on the beds or lounges.
4. Destination Considerations:
- Check in Advance: We recommend planning ahead and confirming that dogs are permitted at your intended destinations and campgrounds, as many national parks and surrounding campsites do not allow pets.
5. Responsibility for Damages:
- Hirer Responsibility: Any costs arising from damage or soiling caused by your pets will not be covered under the insurance. These expenses are the responsibility of the hirer.
6. Temperament and Breed Considerations:
- Right Temperament: Dogs allowed in our caravans must have a calm temperament. They should not:
- Scratch at doors or windows (from either the inside or outside).
- Attempt to sit on beds or couches.
- Enter the caravan while wet.
- Breed Limitations: We generally do not approve large breeds (particularly young dogs or puppies) or breeds that shed heavily.
